Projects

1. Profiles: Create a Member Profiles area of the website.
   Users can add images, soundbites, video, etc.
2. RSS: We are in the process of adding an aggregator component to the website. What we'd really like to do is create a plugin to distribute to other JUGs and relevant groups so that they can easily create syndicated feeds and aggregate their own info for the community. Something like this include code.
3. Polls: We have a project underway to add a poll to the site. Jpolls is an example.
4. Calendar: We have a static HTML calendar. Create a simple way to enter events into the calendar via a web interface.
5. Mail: We are using a free Java host server. It has a mailserver that needs to be configured to work with our GatorJUG domain. Then, for example, we will have email forwarding like 'webmaster@gatorjug.org'.
6. Collaboration: A collaborative area for our projects would be nice. Collabnet and SourceForge are examples. We don't need to reinvent the wheel. We can reuse and implement.
7. Community: We need a wiki or a dedicated blog to keep our conversations in a persistant way.
8. FAQ: Yes, a Frequently Asked Questions area would be nice, too.
9. Put some compressed video on GatorJUG (intro's, current events, etc) using this as a guide.
